Day Break: Pilot

I'm going to try and make it through this post without referring to Taye Diggs being super freakin' hot.

So... Day Break... there were enough good things about the two-hour premiere that will keep me coming back, in addition to its star...

I can't do it. Oh my god, that man is HOT. More shower scenes, please.

Seriously, though--despite quite a few clunky lines better served in an early Schwarzenegger  flick, I found this show to be completely watchable. It's a nice break for me to have a show that really only features a few key players (though of course that's subject to change) and to have a few of those key players played by actors I've enjoyed in other shows. Hey, Skinner! And Jayne! (Thanks to IMDb I just found out that these guys were on X-Files together, but long after I stopped watching the show.)

It's also nice to have a show that doesn't make the foil characters completely stupid. It makes the drama that much more compelling, because what they understand today will be forgotten when the day starts all over again. I really felt that at the motel, when the bad guys pulled up and the two detectives realized that maybe they had the story wrong.

I also think it's interesting that whatever happens to Hopper stays with him in the next go around.

I could do without the anvilicious "Decisions...consequences." Duh! I could also do without the wacky camera movements. And I know from other TV reviews that the show takes a while to get going, so I'm going to stick with it for the next couple weeks and see what happens.

Anyone else watch? What did you think?
