Maureen Ryan Names Her Top 10

As well as 10 Runners Up.  (email me if it requires a logon to read. or sign up! it's just registration/nothing else required. her blog is good!)

I must point out that Friday Night Lights is in her Top 10!  Best show you're not watching!  No doubt!

Along with House, and The Daily Show if I'm only adding up shows that I watch.  (And Battlestar Galactica that I know some of you are watching!)

And her runners up includes Veronica Mars (which I don't like much this year) and The Closer.

Dedicated to John Oliver's Nose.

Did anyone else catch Jon Stewart last night?  John Oliver's War Report was soooooo hilarious.  I think it's the funniest thing I've seen since...  since Samantha Bee did the "pee bottle" report on the truck drivers in the Northwest.  Sooooo funny.

That is all.

My new crush

He's a little bit Mo Rocca, a little bit Eric Idle, with a splash of Harry Potter all grown up and funny as hell. He's John Oliver, latest addition to the Daily Show's cadre of correspondents, and he's hilarious.

Check it. (includes the bit about Bush's stages of grief, which includes the difficult and often traumatic "Hannukah" stage)

Stewart vs. Bennett

If you missed Jon Stewart besting Bill Bennett on the Daily Show, follow the link to the video here.  Stewart tore through all of Bennett's illogical ideas about gay marriage and family. It was beautiful. Why the Democrats can't be more like Stewart is really beyond me.

Actually, that's a good question. Why is it that a pop culture fake-news show is the only place to hear anyone from a liberal standpoint argue logically and effectively, without getting beat down by the likes of conservative blowhard pundits? Why is it that this simple, clear discourse seems to be incapable of happening in the political arena?
