New episode of Grey's on Sunday!

Phew!  Don't know if I could live through a recap two weeks in a row.

But I'm a wee bit confused as the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Grey's season finale will be a two hour show on May 15 -- a Monday.  Monday?

Because there's a 3-hr (??) Survivor finale that Sunday the 14th?  But isn't that on a different channel?  Or is there a 2-hr Housewives finale?

Please do not tell me Grey's and Everwood are going to overlap because that is a recipe for disaster in this house!!!

Go Cerie, Go!

I was so proud of Cerie tonight for masterminding the vote.  She is the rare kind of player who might have voted Richard Hatch off before it was too late.  The way she pitted two sides against each other and then threw a curveball with her own group was amazing.  And she caught a nice-sized fish!  This from the girl who was scared of leaves at the beginning!

Alas... I still don't see how Terry can lose this season.

Some TV Bits in 4/7 EW.

Full page on Arrested Development (or 2/3 page photo, 1/3 page text).  Showtime offered to continue the show but creator Mitch Hurwitz turned them down.  Didn't want to put his life on hold, felt it was time to move on.  Interesting, I didn't know that.

Although note that he is open to the show continuing in other ways.  He suggests merchandising:  I have a feeling the merchandising on Buster alone would be enormous.  Everyone would have a little stuffed Buster. I know I would.

Also a sidebar on the latest "product placement" on Everwood:  Hannah's new Mercury Milan.  I remember noticing it at the time and thinking: "What? That was kinda specific."  Funny to read about it here:  If they came to us saying 'We want Hannah to have a spaceship,' that would be one thing, but it worked very well in this situation, said co-producer David Hudgins.

Project Runway 3

The third season of Project Runway is set to begin on July 12, which means the designers will most likely be showing at fall fashion week. Link for more info.

Mark your calendars.

Maybe I'll have cable by then.

Ver-on-i-caaa-aaa-aaa, Veronica!*

Everyone else has to go watch this episode!  NOW!!!  a) it was good.  b) we need to talk about it!!!

GO.

(tell me if you need a TIVOed copy - i can tape it down...)

*Sung to the tune of the Elvis Costello song obviously...

24 update

Is it still a show or has it become a video game?  My boyfriend insists the writers are heavily borrowing from SoCom, while my little brother says it's all Grand Theft Auto.  Regardless, last night's episode had its share of laughable moments, especially Kiefer riding on top of a fuel tank.

There are still many questions that remain:
-What happened to Pierce?  I don't think he's dead because he's an important enough character that he'd be killed on-screen and since 24 doesn't have any flashbacks, I think he must be alive.
-Why did Heller drive off a cliff?  If I were him, I'd want to make the bad guys take a shot so that people would know you were killed and not dead via an apparent accident/suicide.
-Who are the big bad guys?  I think Dr. Romano and gang must be representing an oil company.
-What is going on with Mike Novick?  The dude should get out of the crazy camp asap.

Buffy

This weekend we watched more Buffy, and we got to the episode where Oz and Willow break up. I cried like a little girl. The Angel/Buffy stuff was sad, but this tore my poor little heart out. Maybe it's because I identify with Willow and Oz more than Buffy and Angel. Maybe it's because I have a crush on both Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green. Maybe it's because I think they're better actors than David Borneaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Whatever the reason, it's still with me days later. *sniff* :(

The OC: Well, it was just three days before Easter.

Fast winding up to the season finale and the end of high school for the gang, and oh look, both boys' ex girlfriends were resurrected for this show.  Ryan finally finding out about the baby who made a few random appearances many many months ago.  And Seth bumping into Anna as he tries not-very-hard-at-all-really to sneak his way into Brown and then somehow into Summer's good graces again (try a little harder, buddy).

Navi Ravat is a busy girl, reappearing here and in a steady role on NUMB3RS this year.

The Sandy/Kirstin situation is deteriorating and FAST.  Wake up, Eyebrows, before you wind up divorced.

This week:  Prom.

Veronica Mars: Raises more questions than answers (but of course).

So I've been putting off posting on last week's episode so someone else would have a chance, and I know at least one person hasn't gotten to watch any of the recent ones, but I can't hold back any longer.

So at this point, the possible suspects for the bus crash are just increasing:

  • Could be Woody.  We know he called his daughter's cell around the time of the crash.  There was some other evidence I can't remember. (Pretty unlikely, think this was just thrown out to confuse the audience/throw off Keith & Veronica.)
  • Could be Weavil.  He did just get Thumper killed.  And VM figured out that he and Cervando (sp?) could have been trying to take out the limo.  (This is most unlikely in my view, considering he was on his motorcycle with Veronica at pretty much the exact same time he'd have had to be making the phone call.)
  • Could be SIK (Skank Impersonating Kendall, Cassie's nickname for her. awesome isn't it!!).  Now that we know that a) she's really some poor white trash ho who stole a dead girl's identity; b) she was involved with the Fitzpatricks long before marrying Big Dick Casablancas; c) the life insurance policy on Dick and the Beav would net her $8 grand. (Likeliest suspect at this point?)
  • Could be Big Dick based on him being the one who took out the life insurance policy and planning to use SIK in some way?
  • Could be Logan's dad with the connection to the bald Curlie Moran dude. (Seems less and less likely, but then again...)
  • Could be the Fitzpatricks given Gia's revelation of the drive-by-mooning winding up being them in the same car they were driving around in this episode (this could also be part of the SIK plan, them doing the SIK's bidding since it sounds like they owe her anyway).

The Kendall-turning-out-to-be-some-skanky-ho storyline kinda came out of nowhere.  Yes, technically you could have said last season that Aaron and Lilly sleeping together/Aaron being the murderer did as well, but if you think about it, in that case, we already knew a) that Lilly was sleeping around, b) that Aaron was sleeping around, c) that Aaron was beating Logan, i.e., capable of beating someone else to death, d) the camera situation in that bedroom.  So there was a lot of circumstantial evidence leading up to it.

Yet the Kendall situation comes triple barreled with a) insurance beneficiary, b) not even who she says she is and c) connection to the Fitzpatricks!!!!!, and no foreshadowing of any of that really.  The only SIK foreshadowing was her getting Duncan's hair out of the shower and meeting Aaron at the jail.  So it seems a little...farfetched that it will wind up being her.  They certainly didn't give the audience as many legitimate reasons to believe in it as they did last season with the Aaron/Lilly detail.

Happening on the sidelines:

  • Weevil saving the PCHers lousy asses, but STILL walking away from the gang in the end.  It was so sweet that he went back and did that for them, despite their defection to Thumper.
  • Mac may wind up going to prom with Butters thanks to Veronica no longer having the key to Clemmons' office.  (And a minor nod to the Mac/Beav breakup, although I would still expect some further clarification on that one.)
  • Wallace still pursuing the Jackie connection, her finally giving into it.  What is up with this storyline.  Geez.  (Veronica getting her the job at Java, how forgiving.)
  • As with last week, there was a little more sassy Logan/Veronica repartee, which you may recall is the whole reason I'm still watching this show anyway!!!!

New episode tonight!!

p.s. Gotta give a shout-out to the great Television Without Pity recaps.  How's this for a great quote:  The thought of Dick's life being worth anything to anyone other than lube manufacturers and porn distributors is an idea that's really blowing my mind here.

Sam's Back

I've not been able to watch most of this season of the West Wing, but I did catch an episode last night. Sam's back! I love that guy. I've never had a thing for Rob Lowe before the West Wing, but a super smart, super sexy man in well-fitting suit? Yes, please.
