Apartments and Babies

1. My stepdad is amazing. I guess I always knew that, but he's really coming through on the guarantor issue. Yes, we need a guarantor for the lease, and even with that assurance the landlord on this place might still say no. It has been a hellish 24 hours for me and my sleep schedule this week has finally caught up with me. But it might all be over tomorrow. Over, that is, except for the packing. And then the actual moving. And then the unpacking. But that's all if the guy says OK.

2. I'm supposed to be looking at more apartments today but we can't seem to get any appointments. I came in early so I could leave early, like now, but there's nothing to see until at least 6:30. So I'm overtired for no reason. I'm anxious to have backup in case the Ft. Greene place falls through, and I'm just frustrated that things aren't moving at the pace I think they should be. Note: I'm not saying things should be moving at this pace, just that I thought they would be and things are falling quite short of that. Also note: my broker is working her butt off for me--it's other people that aren't returning her calls.

3. Stalled on the March socks because of another project I can't blog about. Therefore, no pictures. Except for this one, taken with my new phone.

3. Yes, I got a new phone. New phone! It takes pictures! It only wants to take pictures of my cat! (Is there any other use for a camera phone? Other than taking pictures of one's child so they can be sent to that child's aunt in New York, I mean?) Scout, as you can see, has had it with the paparazzi. Too bad he's under contract.

4. After commisserating over the lack of pictures of my new nephew, a coworker joked, "Wait, the kid's four days old and he doesn't have his own blog yet?" I really like the people I work with.

5. My brother is discovering all the joys of fathering a boy. If you know what I'm saying. Heh.
